Variable ND Filter
A neutral density (ND) filter reduces light to control exposure, and a variable ND (VND) filter simplifies this process by allowing you to adjust the light reduction with a simple twist. The ProMaster Basis VND filter offers light reduction from 2 to 8 f-stops and can be adjusted to any point between. In both photography and videography, limiting light is essential for creative control. For instance, in still photography, a VND filter enables slower shutter speeds to create motion blur, like blurring water to suggest movement. In videography, where shutter speed is often fixed, a VND filter allows the use of a large aperture for shallow depth of field in bright conditions while maintaining proper exposure. Additionally, all ProMaster Basis filters feature the same filter thread on both sides, ensuring compatibility with lens caps and other filters.
