	High-Speed Charging and Reliable Exposures With a high-speed charging system, this flash is designed to meet the needs of advanced image makers. The LP-EL rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack offers reduced recycle times, even when compared to the Speedlite 600EX II-RT using the CP-E4N battery pack. The EL-5 can recharge in just 1.2 seconds during full power sequences in Normal flash mode, and recharging in approx. 0.1 seconds2 at minimum power in Normal flash mode – it's a high-performance flash that can deliver stable flash output even during high action situations. At full power, it can be fired up to 95 continuous times or more!
Versatile Flash Output With its extended flash output range of 1/1 to 1/1024th power, it's perfect for capturing deep depth of field scenes in dark environments, or fill-lighting to reduce shadows on your subject's face. And with a guide number of 60m/169.9ft @200mm (at approx. ISO 100), the Speedlite EL-5 is more than up for the challenge.
	Multi-Function Shoe Connection With the new digital connector at the bottom of the Speedlite EL-5’s Multi-function shoe “foot,” you get superior coordination between the camera and the flash unit compared to previous Canon Speedlites. This includes the “Menu direct” function, Customize button function, and Custom flash modes. Gold-plated terminals in the shoe improve connection quality, and the installation status is checked before starting communications, to ensure reliable connection to cameras such as the Canon EOS R3, R7, R10, and R6 Mark II.
Custom Flash Modes C1, C2, C3 With easy-to-use Custom Flash modes, you can instantly switch between registered settings, including E-TTL auto flash and Manual flash, to get the perfect exposure for every scene. Plus, individual values can be quickly adjusted to suit your changing needs. And with the ability to link C1, C2, and C3 at the flash to C1, C2, and C3 at the camera on compatible cameras, you can recall your favourite flash settings with just the push of a button. Additionally, the high visibility LCD panel on the Speedlite EL-5 makes it easy to check settings and available battery life – even during high action situations.
Modeling Lamp With a built-in LED modeling lamp, you can preview the effect of your flash to ensure that you get the perfect exposure. The brightness level can be set at five different levels, so you can control the amount of light that is outputted. Additionally, the off-camera Speedlite EL-5 Receiver unit's modeling lamps can now be activated and deactivated from a Sender Speedlite EL-5, making it easy to check the flash effect when using multiple Speedlites.
	Expanded App Controls The Canon Speedlite EL-5 is a wireless flash unit that can be controlled from a smartphone using the Canon Camera Connect app. This is an incredibly useful feature for photographers who want to be able to adjust their flash settings without having to physically touch the camera or flash unit. The app allows users to choose the placement and direction of each flash unit, and then adjust the light intensity to get the perfect shot.
Dust and Moisture Resistance The Canon Speedlite EL-5 is a powerful and durable flash unit that is designed to withstand tough conditions. With its new rubber seal around the shoe locking mechanism, the EL-5 is dust and moisture-resistant, making it ideal for shooting in difficult environments.
