The 26-inch-diameter Lantern Softbox from Aputure has the same omnidirectional light quality as the "China Balls" of old, but it is made of durable materials and has accessories like a skirt set to control the 270-degree beam spread. It can be used overhead or to increase the level of ambient illumination. The Lantern comes with a Bowens mount that works with Aputure lights like the 120d and 300d series. However, it also works with a lot of other lights that use this popular mount.
